A man has sadly died today at Loch Doon after getting into difficulty in the water.
Another man was also pulled from the water, but he did not require any further medical attention.
Police were called to the scene at around 1.15pm today, after receiving reports of two men getting into difficulty.
One of the men sadly died at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Officers received reports of two men in difficulty in the water at Loch Doon, Dalmellington, around 1.15pm on Sunday, 27 March, 2022.
"One man died at the scene. The other man was checked over by paramedics but did not require further medical treatment.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
