A CUMNOCK fitness guru is launching a new fitness challenge to start people off on the right foot in 2022.

Julie Steele has created the 30-day challenge, and anyone who takes part is in with the chance of winning of a new set of Air Pods.

The challenge involves losing a healthy amount of weight in the next 30 days. For every pound lost between January 13 and February 12, individuals will receive a raffle for their chance to win the prize.

Julie believes it can be the perfect way for people to get back into a routine for the rest of the year, after enjoying the time over the Christmas period.

She said: “It’s a good way to kick start people again because loads of people want to lose weight in January after Christmas and it’s not always easy to do that and maintain that.

“Often what happens is when we actually get to January, a lot of people then put it off until February or March and then all of a sudden you’re getting through the year without getting out of it what you wanted.

“This is a way for people to start out the right way in January and it can have more than just a positive physical affect on them as well.

“I just added the incentive of some Air Pods to see if it could get any other people involved in the challenge.

“Everyone taking part will get a 30-day challenge sheet and they can tick off and say that they’ve been on plan and for every pound they’ve lost, just to keep them motivated.”

People can join in on the challenge at any point between the 30 days.

Having been in the industry for so long, Julie has often seen that the biggest difficulty for a lot of people is actually getting started.

She has seen a lot of people struggle with actually getting started on their journey, and she hopes that people can take that first step with this challenge.

She added: “The biggest step is making that call or that text to say that I’m ready for this.

“You do need to be ready for something like this because it can be difficult, but getting over that first hurdle goes a long way helping reach the goals you want to achieve.”

Despite admitting the difficulty of the challenge, Julie was keen to stress that the challenge is suitable for people of any age, shape or size, and that no one should be put off by wanting to make themselves better.

Julie continued: “I want this to be for everybody and for anyone to try out and help them feel better.

“I’ve done the diet myself so I think that’s important for people as well, to see that it is achievable and it can be maintained over a long period of time.

“It’s not just about losing weight, but losing inches as well.”
