A YOUNG woman has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A76 this morning.
The 19-year-old is being treated at Crosshouse Hospital after the crash between Mauchline and Crosshands.
Traffic Scotland advised drivers travelling along the road to take extra care in the area
An hour later they were still advising motorists that the lanes remained blocked.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A76 between Mauchline and Kilmarnock around 7.25am on Thursday 6 January 2021.
“A 19-year-old woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, and enquiries are continuing.”
