Glenafton Athletic manager Mick McCann says his side did not do enough to earn anything at the weekend, as they lost 3-1 to Largs Thistle.

Despite the end score line, it was the Glens who took the lead in the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division match through Sam McKee.

However, Thistle rallied with a goal from Will Sewell and a double from Connor McGoldrick giving the away side the win at Loch Park.

Speaking to the Chronicle, McCann said: “It was disappointing obviously the result.

“But I think Largs definitely did deserve the three points, so I cannot complain from that point of view.

“It was a bitty game and for us I don’t think we did enough to deserve anything to be fair.”

McCann added: “We took the lead, scored a good goal and you are hoping that kicks you on a bit.

“But it kind of halted our progress in the game and Largs came back into it, scoring just before half-time.

“That obviously affects the game and in the second half we just did not start at all.

“But again, full credit to Largs, in the second half they were excellent.”
