The East Ayrshire Violence Against Women Partnership want to understand the strength of feeling of safety of women and girls in East Ayrshire.

As part of the 16 days of activism 2021, which stands to fight against and end violence against women, a survey is being run to understand how women in East Ayrshire feel about their safety, and what more they would like to see done.

East Ayrshire Violence Against Women Partnership (EAVAWP) was formed in 2010 to bring together individuals and organisations who can provide a comprehensive partnership response to violence against women.

This survey will focus on views of women and girls aged over 16, looking at their perceptions of personal safety in East Ayrshire and ideas on ways to make communities safer for women and girls.

The first section of this survey is asking some questions about you.

This information will help to improve services and be fair to everyone who lives in East Ayrshire.

The information you provide will be kept entirely confidential and will never be traced back to you as an individual. The information you provide will be used for statistical and research purposes only and will be stored securely.

A representative for the partnership said: “We understand that thinking about what makes you feel safe or unsafe might bring back some difficult memories or feelings. We also know how hidden much of this abuse can be; how often it goes unreported and how it can be difficult to recover without support.

“If you would like to talk to someone, a full list of all specialist services can be found at East Ayrshire Violence Against Women Partnership.”

The full survey can be found by going to the East Ayrshire Women’s Aid Facebook page.

The survey will run until this Friday, December 10.
