Pupils at Auchinleck PS and ECC took part in Anti-Bullying Week 2021 (November 15-19).
P3 pupils showed off the posters they made after a discussion on bullying with their teacher, Miss Gill.
P5 made pots of kindness. The children said this made them think about how they could incorporate random acts of kindness into their day like helping their mum round the house, calling their grandparents or saying please and thank you.
P6 and P7 also looked at body-shaming and cyber bullying. Each child placed a post it note on the wall of shame and hurt if they had called themself a name or shamed someone else.
The school made contact with parents beforehand to start the dialogue at home and to ask permission to show sections of Jesy Nelson’s documentary ‘Odd One Out’.
It proved really hard-hitting and everyone saw how saying unkind things to yourself or others can have a devastating impact.
