A NEW Cumnock community group is all set for its upcoming Christmas events.

The New Cumnock Development Trust was formed to help support and bring sustainable development to the area’s community.

Heading into the festive period and hot off the heels of Halloween, where NCDG held a free special effects makeup workshop, and its Annual General Meeting which was held last Monday, the trust will be putting on a series of Christmas specials for the town to enjoy.

On Sunday, December 5 the group will host its “Christmas Doo”, where residents can head along to New Cumnock Town hall for a free premier showing of the NCDT Christmas Video and to enjoy live festive music and afternoon tea.

A week later the trust will be hosting its first ever Reindeer “FUNds Run”, where the town’s joggers and those looking to have some fun to raise money for local community groups.

The events coincide with the group’s “The Best Festive Window Competition 2021”, where local businesses are asked to decorate their shop fronts in preparation for Santa arriving in the town, raising some festive and community cheer in the process.

More information on the fun run will be released in the near future.

The events also coincide with the New Cumnock Christmas Fayre, which takes place on November 28 at New Cumnock Town Hall between 2-4pm.

Children will meet Santa and one child will win the chance to turn on the Christmas lights.

There will also be a raffle, bric a brac, face paint and food and drink.
