Santa Claus is coming to town.

Well, he is coming to Dumfries House to meet all the good kids from around the area and hear what they would like for the big day.

This Sunday (November 28), Santa will officially arrive at his grotto by sleigh - and everyone is invited to come along and welcome him to Dumfries House!

Led by reindeers, Santa’s sleigh will depart from the front steps of Dumfries House at 2pm and will travel past the Visitor Centre en route to his grotto, which is located next to the Coach House Cafe.

Visitors and members of the local community are encouraged to line the route and wave to Santa and his festive elves as they pass.

Santa is always a welcomed visitor with locals who are always keen to take along their wee ones and give Father Christmas a nice big wave.

Anyone wishing to attend and see Santa on his sleigh is being asked to arrive at Dumfries House in plenty of time, as the event is expected to be extremely popular.

Although the Meet Santa slots are fully-booked for 2021, the family-friendly Present Trail will also open on Sunday, November 28.

Starting at the entrance to the main Dumfries House car park, the interactive woodland trail will lead guests through the estate’s Rothesay Garden as they search for present props nestled amongst the trees. Each of the presents also features a QR code which, when scanned on a smartphone, will play a classic Christmas song.

At the end of the walk, there will also be an opportunity for young visitors to leave a message for Santa on the Dumfries House wishing tree.

There is no charge to take part in the trail and there will be competitions with exciting prizes on the Dumfries House social media channels across the month of December .
