A woman has died following a fire at public toilets in Saltcoats yesterday [November 15].
On Monday morning, a fire broke out at the public toilets situated within Melbourne Park at around 10.40am.
Emergency crews, including police officers and fire engines, attended the scene, but it has been confirmed that a woman died as a result of the incident.
The woman has not been named and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A woman has died following a fire at a building on Melbourne Road, Saltcoats, on Monday, 15 November, 2021.
"Enquiries are ongoing, however the death is not being treated as suspicious and a full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
