There were plenty of ghouls, witches and interesting creatures roaming the corridors of New Cumnock Primary School this week as pupils and staff got dressed up to celebrate spooky season.
The school held an action-packed Hallowe’en Fun Day on October 29, supported by the parent council.
Young people were encouraged to come to school dressed up in their Hallowe’en finery and enjoy games, competitions and treats in class.
Everyone looked great, with some costumes including Spiderman and Frankenstein. There were even some doctors, bears and mermaids thrown in the mix, too and each class was awarded a ‘best costume’ prize which was voted for by pupils.
Prizes were generously donated by the parent council.
There was also a ‘design a pumpkin’ competition for young learners to enjoy, with the winner from each class being gifted their very own pumpkin to take home with them.
Maybe they carved it up as a table centrepiece for Hallowe’en night or put it on the porch to invite trick-or-treaters over the weekend?
Either way, a truly spooktacular day was had by all.
Well done to all the pupils and staff who made a solid effort with their costumes and participated well in all the activities.
