The Prince’s Foundation, headquartered at Dumfries House in Cumnock, has launched a powerful, diverse new children’s book about climate change which will be sent to every primary school in Ayrshire.

Launched in conjunction with COP26 from October 31 until November 12, and featuring a foreword by Prince Charles, more than 2,000 copies of IT’S UP TO US: A Children’s Terra Carta for Nature, People & Planet By Christopher Lloyd will be sent to all primary schools across the country.

Schools will also have access to online educational resources and events will be held at Dumfries House for schools and the public alongside an exhibition of the illustrations from the book.

Simon Sadinsky, executive director of The Prince’s Foundation, said: “Sustainability sits at the very heart of The Prince’s Foundation so we are delighted to be collaborating with What on Earth Publishing and the Sustainable Markets Initiative on It’s Up to Us.

“As a charity, we strive to find the best possible ways to help bring Nature, People and Planet back into balance and we are very much looking forward to sharing this exciting and important publication with children all over the world to help inspire them to put the planet first.”

Christopher Lloyd, CEO, What on Earth Publishing said: “The story of how humans have upset the harmony of nature, putting the future of our planet in peril, is the most important ever told.

“Activating young people to persuade others to put nature first is vital if we are to succeed in helping combat climate change. That’s why we are so thrilled to be partnering with HRH Prince of Wales and The Prince’s Foundation to tell this story in the most accessible, beautiful and engaging way possible.”
