A fire took hold of the first floor of Glaisnock Mansion House in Cumnock last night [October 17].
Around 6.09pm, fire crews were called to Glaisnock House where a rubbish fire was discovered on the first floor of the abandoned property.
The fire was extinguished and the area made safe. No one was injured in the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.09pm on Sunday, October 17 to reports of a fire at old Glaisnock School, Cumnock.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and one height vehicle and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting rubbish on the first floor of a derelict property.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers attended at a derelict building on Glaisnock Road in Cumnock at around 6.30pm on Sunday, 17 October following reports of a small fire to a chair.
"The fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service."
