There has been a serious incident on the A76 in New Cumnock, which has led to a closure of both the north and southbound lanes of the busy road through East Ayrshire.
Traffic Scotland say that the 'serious RTC' happened just a short while ago on the stretch between Pathead and New Cumnock.
They advise that the road is likely to be closed for 'some time'.
A 50-mile diversion has been put in place in the meantime.
Police are currently at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a road traffic crash on the A76 near New Cumnock around 3.20pm on Thursday 14 October 21.
"Officers are at the scene and enquiries continue."
