A CARE home in Sanquhar organised an impressive themed tea party last week, bringing much joy, fun and laughter to residents.
On Wednesday, September 29 Queensberry Care Home set the scene for a Mary Poppins-themed tea party, complete with fancy dress, sweet treats, balloons and special artwork adorning the walls.
Staff made a real effort to get into character, with one team member dressing up as a chimney sweep and another transforming into a real life Mary Poppins with her signature black umbrella and massive travel bag which was no doubt home to even more goodies for residents to enjoy.
The tea party was held in the main lounge where everyone could tuck into sandwiches and some tea and coffee together. Scenes from the Mary Poppins film were also plastered on the walls.
The next event that the care home is looking forward to is their fundraiser psychic night which is taking place on Saturday, October 9 at Kirkconnel Miners Memorial Hall.
The night will feature the “wonderful” Louise Finlay, Sharon Florea and guests.
There will be private readings on the night and the care home is also pleased to have Barrie Wilson AKA Ruby Freebush drop by, too.
GMB roadshow Geordie Monteith will finish the night.
Tickets are £10 and can be bought via Linda Telfer, Andrea or the care home itself.
