Sorn’s Main Street will be closed for 10 days of repair, with works commencing this weekend.

Ayrshire Roads Alliance are to carry out Carriageway Resurfacing Works on the B743 Main Street in the village, beginning on Saturday, October 9 and continuing for approximately 10 days, including both weekends.

The area affected will be from Woodlands Road to just beyond Anderson Crescent.

To undertake the road works safely, Ayrshire Roads will close this section of the Main Street and restrict parking daily between 8am and 6pm.

A diversion route will be signed via B713 to Catrine to A76 Mauchline before rejoining the B743 at Mauchline Cross and vice versa.

Vehicle access for residents and businesses within the affected area will be restricted at times and will only be permitted to or from properties affected by the works.

Traffic Marshals will be on site to advise motorists during this time.

An official No Waiting Order will also be implemented throughout and motorists are kindly being asked not to park within the affected area during working hours.

Emergency vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, however.

The Order will come into effect at October 9 and will cease at 6pm on October 24 or until the works are completed, which is hoped to be earlier.
