Auchinleck Talbot manager Tommy Sloan says their goal just before half time stunned Blantyre Victoria as they won 3-0 at the KG Stadium.

Jamie Glasgow opened the scoring early in the first half before Gareth Armstrong doubled the away side’s lead just before the break.

Bryan Boylan then completed the scoring in the second half as bot remain top of the Premier Division and still unbeaten.

Speaking to the Chronicle this week, Sloan said: “The first half we were quite bright and dominated the game.

“Our second goal just before the break took the wind out of their sails.

“Then the third kills the game and after it we made a few changes to get some players involved again.”

Next up for Talbot is a return to senior Scottish Cup duty against a familiar foe in fellow Premier Division side Irvine Meadow.

Medda co manager Colin Spence says they are big underdogs for the tie but Sloan says Bot will have no complex going into the game.

“Everybody likes to be the underdog but we are not going there with any attitude.

“We will need to be at our best to win the tie.”
