Those from Ayrshire who are attending the TRNSMT festival this Sunday are being reminded that no trains are running back to the area due to strike action.

Scotrail workers have been striking every Sunday since April 28, meaning very limited services have been running.

The strikes were initially supposed to last until September 5, however a recent vote means that they will continue throughout the Autumn.

This means that no trains will be in operation coming back to Ayrshire after the Glasgow Green event finishes this Sunday.

If you were planning to travel by train to TRNSMT, you should make sure to check Scotrail's adapted timetables thoroughly and find an alternative way to get home.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Head of Customer Operations, said: “We’re urging people heading to TRNSMT this weekend to make their travel plans now.

“Planned engineering works and ongoing industrial action will impact our ability to get you to and from the festival on Saturday and Sunday.

“Make sure to check your train times on our website or app and leave plenty of time for travel as the last trains each night will depart before, or very shortly after, the event finishes.”
