Glenafton manager Mick McCann says he is happy with how his new team is looking despite their 2-0 loss to Pollok at the weekend.

Second half goals from Pollok’s Stuart McCann and Adam Forde consigned the Glens to their second defeat of the season.

Speaking to the Chronicle, McCann said: “We did well in spells against Pollok but at times we need to be better individually.

“But Pollok are long established squad whilst we are brand new team.

“However, over the first three games we have shown that we are more than capable of holding our own against top sides.

“Albeit just with one victory out of the three but I am pleased with how we have come together.”

Glens next game in the Premier Division sees them face off against Hurlford at home on Wednesday night.

McCann says the home advantage at Loch Park should play a part in what is a tricky fixture.

He continued: “It is another tough test, Darren Henderson always has his squad well organised and hard to break down.

“Being at home, you have got to look at the onus being on us after two defeats.”
