Ballochmyle Medical Group will temporarily close its Catrine clinic on various dates in the coming weeks due to staff shortages.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran have confirmed that services will be reduced in the practice's Catrine branch, with a full service relocating to its Mauchline site in Loan Green Surgery.

Patient services at the Catrine branch will resume as normal from Monday, August 2.

A spokesperson for the health board said: "Ballochmyle Medical Practice has taken the decision to temporarily reduce services to patients registered with their Catrine branch site, from Tuesday – Friday for weeks commencing 19 July and 26 July 2021.

"This is due to staff shortages and the practice have agreed to consolidate all available staff to provide general medical services from one site during this time.

"We would like to provide reassurance to patients that telephone consultations with a GP will still be available during this time. If patients need to be seen urgently face to face during the time the Catrine branch is closed, an appointment will be arranged with a GP or other healthcare professional from the Mauchline branch."

They added: "The NHS Primary Care leadership team are working with East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership and practice staff, to ensure there is minimal disruption to patients affected by this temporary change."
