East Ayrshire Leisure has just released its 2021 bumper sized, action packed Summer Programme which has something for everyone.

Running from Saturday, June 26 right through to August 31, a range of activities including family sports pods, swimming, outdoor sports and footie kick-about are sure to keep the kids entertained all summer long.

The Scottish Government has provided funding to develop fun activities that will provide opportunities to those most adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

That means some activities are free to all families across East Ayrshire while others have a number of free places available to priority families.

Kids can take part in a varied programme of fun outdoor activities with the Ranger team. There’s Mini Beasts, Pond Dipping, Rafting Daft, Den Building, Bird Box Building, Woodland Art, Orienteering, Treasure Hunts and much more from just £3 per session or free.

Youngsters can also join East Ayrshire Youth Theatre for a full day of Dance and Drama. These one day, free summer sessions will take place at Cumnock Town Hall, Auchinleck Boswell Centre, Darvel Town Hall and Stewarton Area Centre from Monday, July 19.

There are up to 20 fully funded places in each session for 7-11 year olds plus lunch is included.

Primary children can take part in Read Around Summer: The Big Staycation, too. All children have to do is read six books from the library throughout the summer holidays.

This can be digital, audio or physical books and the books can be any genre. It is free and those taking part will get a certificate and be entered into a prize draw to win some fantastic prizes.
