A motorcyclist has been left in a serious condition in hospital after being involved in a crash near Loch Doon at the weekend.
The 62-year-old male was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow following the incident which took place on the evening of Sunday, June 13.
The man remains in a serious condition.
It is understood the crash took place on the A713 road, one mile up past the Loch Doon turn off towards Carsphairn.
Photos taken at the scene show tailbacks along the stretch of road which was closed temporarily to allow for emergency crews to safely attend.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30pm on Sunday, June 13, we received a report of a crash involving a motorbike.
“Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a 62 year old male, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by air ambulance, where he remains in a serious condition.
“The road was closed for a short time to allow for the investigation and uplift of the vehicle and reopened around 9pm.”
