New Cumnock Primary School’s DEN group were over at New Cumnock Community Garden this week to help spruce up their school planter and benches.
Principal Teacher Danielle McNulty and Tammy from New Cumnock Development Trust (NCDT) helped with the painting efforts and said the boys were so excited with all the positive feedback they received on the friendship stop.
Through the school’s work with NCDT, Tammy Borthwick contacted Shire Housing who were delighted to hear about the school’s community work including their litter picking and park clean up.
In turn, they donated £500 to the group which was used to buy paint and plants to help them embark on their ‘Brighten Up New Cumnock’ mission.
The group are very proud of their plot within the Community Garden and are keen gardeners so jumped at the opportunity to spruce up these items.
