A MAN allegedly turned up at a house in New Cumnock with an axe before making demands.

Garry Brittain, 31, faced three charges of wilful fireraising, threatening behaviour and carrying a weapon when he appeared before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

Brittain is accused of wilfully setting fire to a white Volkswagen Golf in the car park outside Unit 8, Moorfield Industrial Estate in Kilmarnock and causing damage to the vehicle on April 14, 2020.

He also faces a charge of turning up at a home in Coupar Gate, New Cumnock uninvited and making demands on October 30 last year – causing fear and alarm to the complainer.
