A THREE TOWNS takeaway and restaurant has been shortlisted among the finalists for the first ever Scottish Virtual Restaurant Awards.

Motherland Spice in Saltcoats has been nominated for Restaurant Delivery of the Year.

The awards recognize the contribution these establishments have made by continuing to operate during the lockdown.

Each restaurant has been nominated and voted for by members of the public and those with the highest number of votes have been shortlisted.

The restaurant was previously named one of the best 15 Indians in the country.

Although they have been prohibited from welcoming diners to their premises, they have continued to support their communities by providing takeaways, deliveries and support for frontline NHS staff.

The winners will be announced next week.

You can find more about the restaurant on their website here.
