Motorists travelling along the A76 this morning could be set for delays after an HGV overturned on the road earlier today, causing the road to be shut.
The incident happened just south of Sanquhar, shortly before 9am this morning and the road is strewn with debris from the verge, where it appears the vehicle has collided with the trees lining the road, the HGV's load is also spilled all over the place.
The Dumfries Fire and Rescue Team and Nithsdale Police are on the scene, they say that miraculously, no serious injuries have occurred.
The road is shut in both directions and will be reopened when recovery of the vehicle is complete. Police are advising people to avoid the area.
South West Trunk Roads are currently setting up a diversion route, we'll have more on that as soon as information is confirmed.
