Ayr United club legend John Sludden has sadly died at the age of 56.
The striker scored 84 goals for The Honest men between 1985-89, including 31 goals during the team's Second Division title winning season in 1987/88.
Sludden also has spells with Kilmarnock and St Johnstone, as well as a short stint at Celtic.
Ayr United posted on social media: "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a club legend, John Sludden.
"Our thoughts are with all of his friends and family at this time"
