A POPULAR fried chicken pop-up will close this weekend after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Bosses at Koxedo in the city's West End, who are also behind Ox and Finch and Ka Pao, were "incredibly sad" to announce that their "small team" had been impacted by the virus.

They have taken the decision to cancel all pre-paid orders on the pop-up's last weekend in business.

Contract tracing is now underway to identify close contracts of those to have tested positive.

A statement from Koxedo reads: "We are incredibly sad to say that due to a positive Covid 19 test within our small team, Koxedo will not be open this weekend and all pre-ordered collections will be cancelled.

"This is the last way we expected to be closing our pop-up on it's final weekend. However, the safety of the rest of the team and all of our customers is paramount and we don't want to take any unnecessary risks.

"Anyone with a pre-paid order in place for this weekend (April 16, 17 and 18) will be refunded in due course. We'd ask for your patience as we work through all of the refunds, this may take a little time but we will work as swiftly as possible.

"We want to thank all of our customers for the support you've given us this spring and extend a heartfelt apology for the disappointment and inconvenience caused by cancelled orders."
