Police are appealing for information to help trace a 45-year-old man from Newarthill in North Lanarkshire who it is believed may have travelled to Ayrshire.

The missing man, Stephen Clark, was last seen at his work in the Gorbals area of Glasgow around 7.15pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, April 6).

He is described as a white man, around 5ft 7in tall with short brown hair and green eyes.

When he was last seen, he was wearing navy blue cargo trousers, a navy blue jumper and polo shirt with a ‘city’ logo, black work boots and may have been wearing a grey hat and high vis vest.

From enquiries carried out by them so far, police say it is possible he may have travelled to Ayr.

Sergeant Stewart Masson, of Police Scotland’s Lanarkshire Police Division, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Stephen’s welfare and are asking for assistance to help trace him safe and well.

“He may have travelled to the Renfrewshire or Ayrshire areas later in the evening and we would ask anyone who may have noticed someone matching this description to get in touch with officers.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 3202 of Tuesday, 6 April, 2021.”
