Comic Relief fundraising fun came to New Cumnock PS recently as the school came together to mark this year’s superhero-themed Red Nose Day on Friday, March 19.
To get in the spirit of the occasion, pupils were given the opportunity to embrace their favourite superhero and were invited to come to the school dressed as them - all while raising money for a fantastic and well-known cause.
Children looked just the ticket as they came to school dressed as fun comic book and movie characters like Superman, Batman, Spiderman and every superhero in between.
Teachers and staff also jumped on the bandwagon as they, too, celebrated Red Nose Day in fancy-dress alongside students who seemed to have a ‘super’ day.
The link to the official fundraising page was shared with families who were able to donate to the worthy cause.
Although things looked a little different this year, primary schools up and down the country were provided with COVID-safe tips and virtual fundraising ideas to ensure they still had loads of fun.
Children were encouraged to take on a superhero challenge or do a socially distanced quiz if they fancied raising some money.
Free resources and cool merchandise were also available from the Comic Relief website, modelled by celebrities such as Capital host Roman Kemp and kids TV presenter Karim Zeroual.
