A person has died after an incident at a train line near Cumnock yesterday.
British Transport Police and paramedics attended around 4.40pm on Tuesday, March 2, but the person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers say the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called to the line near Cumnock at 4.42pm yesterday (March 2) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal."
