A football fanatic has brought his YouTube channel to the lost village of Glenbuck to explore the area’s sporting past and pay tribute to Liverpool legend Bill Shankly.

Sam North’s YouTube channel Footy Adventures promises to take viewers “inside the beautiful game” by visiting sites of particular significance in footballing history – and it seems that Glenbuck is no exception.

Delving into the history of “one of the most amazing footballing sites in the whole world”, Sam was evidently riveted by the place as he discussed what it was about the former mining community that produced some of the most resilient and successful footballers of our time.

A Liverpool fan himself, Sam’s goal was also to return a special pin badge of Shankly that he had collected as a child to the village in a sentimental act of gratitude for everything the former manager had achieved at the club.

Astounded by the rocky ravines and snowy terrain beneath his feet as he caught Glenbuck on a crisp, cold day, Sam ends the video by doing just this – laying the pin badge at the site of the Shankly family home, back in its “rightful place”.
