Shimmer & Shine - Scotland Ltd was broken in to in the early hours of Monday morning.

It is not yet known if anything was taken from the shop in the centre of the town.

Owner of the shop, John McCaig, said: "So sad that in these difficult times for small businesses that there is an element of people out there who think it’s ok to take what does not belong to them.

"However, we take comfort in the fact that that there are so many lovely people in Cumnock and surrounding areas who love and support our small shop".

Cumnock Chronicle:

The shop posted on its Facebook page to announce the news and thank people for their help so far.

So ..... out of every negative comes a positive. Fresh window in (done in anger I must say) .......shop deep cleaned...
