A well-known parrot who can regularly be seen around Cumnock town centre made a new friend this week after he popped into the charity shop for a browse.
Jazz the parrot and its owner were in the Ayrshire Hospice shop when the colourful bird took a shining to Michael Mcpake - and even perched quite the thing on his shoulder.
Michael said: “I just happened to be in our only surviving charity shop when Jazz the parrot and its owner were doing a bit of shopping.
“Jazz is a friendly bird and traffic does not seem to bother him/her. Unfortunately I don’t know what breed of parrot it is, possibly some readers might have an opinion on that.”
