Essential maintenance on the A76 north of Mauchline will begin this week.

The work between Dykefield Farm and Hollybush Junction will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am, each night, from Monday, November 23 to Friday, November 27.

Additional works are required to restore the carriageway back to full width. These works will be undertaken during the day on Thursday 19 and Friday 20, with two-way temporary traffic lights in place throughout.

A signed diversion route will be in operation for the overnight closures.

Southbound traffic on the A76 will exit at Crossroads Roundabout onto the A719 to follow the A77 at Sandyford Toll Roundabout.

From here, vehicles will follow the southbound A77 to Holmston Roundabout and exit onto the A70 towards Cumnock and return to the southbound A76 at Dettingen Roundabout.

Northbound traffic will follow the same diversion in the opposite direction.

This scheme will benefit around 12,157 vehicles using this route each day by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in future.
