A FORMER Ayrshire electronics engineer has been appointed the new minister of a Scottish Borders church.
Rev Morag Crossan, 49, was inducted into Canonbie United, linked with Liddesdale Church, during a service on Thursday, October 29, under government guidelines. It is expected to be livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page and later available on YouTube.
The path to ministry has been a long one for Miss Crossan. She worked as an electronics engineer before retraining as a youth and community worker. After transferring to full-time ministry, Miss Crossan did placements at various churches across the country, including Prestwick North Parish Church.
Miss Crossan, who grew up in Dalmellington, said: “I look forward to joining a church in a beautiful part of the country, walking with people in all circumstances and being a witness to the Gospel that is lived out in everyday life.
“In these times of change for the church, it’s exciting to begin my ministry and I hope to use my background in IT to start an online presence.”
