With so many restrictions in place, Hallowe’en celebrations are looking very different this year. However, some businesses and venues are still going ahead with socially-distanced events for kids and adults to enjoy safely.

Here are some of Ayrshire’s best Hallowe’en festivities taking place this year.

Drive-In Movies, Glasgow Prestwick Airport

There is something for both children and adults with everything from family favourites like Hocus Pocus and Gremlins, to late night screenings of The Exorcist at Prestwick Airport.

Prizes for best costumes are also up for grabs, with ‘scare marshals’ on the look out for the most impressive outfits.

Tickets cost £36 per car and are available here.

Virtual Tamfest

Cumnock Chronicle:

Ayrshire’s Tamfest, inspired by Robert Burns’ Tam o’ Shanter poem, has been running annually since 2015.

This year the festival has moved online, with a range of virtual activities and competitions for people to take part in.

The virtual event includes various Hallowe’en themed workshops, such as balloon modelling, face painting and arts and crafts tutorials.

There is also a mapped out ‘Gruesome Cycle Tour’ and video clip featuring local historian Ken Nairn who explores some of Ayrshire’s spooky past.

The festival will feature performances by wrestler and actor Grado, as well as Still Game’s Jane McCarry.
