Ayrshire Cancer Support are calling on schools, businesses and residents to become ‘fundraising heroes’ for their support services.

With COVID restrictions having been in place for most of the year, the organisation has had to find new ways of generating funds.

Like many charities, Ayrshire Cancer Support has seen its funds drop significantly as a result of the pandemic.

It has now produced a free 24-page fundraising pack with suggestions, hints and tips on how to raise money whilst adhering to current guidelines.

The brochure provides details of projects which are in need of funds and explains how any money raised may be used for services such as complementary therapy treatments and bereavement counselling for families.

It also features an A to Z list of possible fundraising activities, with everything from auctions and afternoon teas, to Zumba-thons and zip wire challenges.

Fundraising manager Martin Quigley said: “With the majority of Ayrshire Cancer Support’s 2020 fundraising events cancelled due to COVID-19, it’s had a devastating impact.

“We need your support now more than eve.”

The pack and resources can be ordered by contacting the community fundraising team on 01563475025 or by emailing fundraising@ayrshirecs.org.
