A 30-year-old man has been hospitalised after being attacked by two men in Maybole on Saturday night (October 17).

The incident happened at a property on Castle Street in the town around 8.35pm on Saturday, October 17. 

Two men forced entry to the property and assaulted the man.

He was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment to serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police are particularly keen to identify two men. One is described as white, around 6ft 2in tall and of muscular build.

The second is also white and around 5ft 8in tall with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured jumper and light blue denim jeans.

Police say the men may have run off onto Castle Street following the incident and are appealing for information.

Detective Constable Paul McRoberts, of Ayr CID, said: "We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

"I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard a disturbance on Castle Street shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday evening to please get in touch.

"Anyone who may have dashcam footage or private CCTV is also asked to pass this on to police.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 3894 of 17 October, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
