The New Cumnock Development Trust caught up with Maureen from New Cumnock Community Garden Group this week as they prepare the way for a virtual visit following the town’s SURF Award nomination.
Last week, it was revealed that New Cumnock had been shortlisted for a Scottish Regeneration Award delivered by SURF, a regeneration forum with over 300 cross-sector member organisations across Scotland.
New Cumnock will go up against Fernbrae Meadows in Rutherglen and Campbeltown Town Centre in Argyll and Bute to be crowned Scotland’s Most Improved Place – the only town in Ayrshire to be shortlisted.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a physical visit of the town has been replaced by a virtual visit, meaning it was lights, camera and action for Maureen as the Trust chatted with her ahead of the visit.
An online video will be sent in to judges showcasing the very best of the town’s community spirit during such challenging times.
The virtual visit is due to take place on Tuesday, October 27.
