A biker is in critical condition after colliding with a van in Parkhead. 

The serious crash took place on Westmuir Street at its junction with Hart Street around 11.10pm.

The 29-year-old motorcyclist is receiving treatment at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, but the driver of the van was not injured. 

Emergency services shut down the street in both direction for several hours last night. 

Officers have launched a probe into the crash.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 11.10pm on Friday, 25 September, 2020, we received a report of a serious crash involving a van and a motorbike on Westmuir Street, Glasgow, at the junction with Hart Street.

“The 29-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital where he is described as being in a critical condition. The driver of the van was not injured.

“The road was closed for around five hours and enquiries are ongoing.”
