A Netherthird woman has raised an incredible £2497.01 for Netherthird Community Centre by cycling 26 miles as part of the Virtual Kiltwalk Weekend.

Maxine Marshall cycled 26 miles through local villages and towns to raise funds for the development centre. The money will go towards building new treatment rooms which aim to combat suicide in the community.

Maxine initially raised £1237.52 but thanks to a generous top-up of 100 per cent by Sir Tom Hunter, the final sum was even more than she could have imagined.

She said: “It was a manageable cycle, it was just trying to find the best day to do it.

“It’s amazing, I’m absolutely gobsmacked.”
