Cumnock Community Councillors David Elliot and Hugh Murdoch spent time weeding and tidying up the Cumnock War Memorial this week.
The men filled two large bags with weeds and rubbish.
It comes after members of Cumnock Community Council laid a wreath at the site to commemorate VE Day and VJ Day last month.
The Community Council, including Neill Watts who drew local attention to the men’s efforts, are making a conscious effort to keep the spot clean and tidy so that it is ready for any upcoming events or commemorations.
