The terms of the order stated that Owens would only be able to communicate through email with his former partner only in relation to their children.

The charge states Owens “sent emails which did not involve child contact.”

It goes on to say that Owens also attended at a property in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire which was also included in the order.

His lawyer John Kilcoyne told the court Owens considered himself “jealous” throughout their relationship.

He added: “Mr Owens tried to blame his partner for his own behaviour.

“He realises his relationship with his partner is toxic, there is no hope for reconciliation and wants to remain single.

“He had another previous relationship which lasted four years with a Scottish actress but realises he was jealous in that relationship.”

Sheriff Valerie Mays told Owens, of the city’s Cambuslang, to focus on his children.

She ordered him to do 40 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
