Police, ambulance and fire service personnel have rushed to a 'massive crash' in North Ayrshire.
UPDATE: Two fined for careless driving after A737 double crash
Emergency services responded to the incident on the A737 at Beith last night (Saturday, September 19).
The crash happened just after 8pm and is reported to involve five cars.
One eye-witness described the incident as a 'massive crash'.
The A737 at the Beith Bypass is closed in both directions due to the road traffic accident.
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
