A naked man seen wearing only a snood is being hunted in Cumnock.

Droves of police officers descended on the area around Glaisnock House searching for the man described as 'naked, except for a black and red snood covering his face'.

A resident said the man was allegedly 'jumping out' in front of people but Police Scotland could not confirm this.

Officers received the report at around 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday, September 13), and ask anyone who saw the individual to contact them.

The man is described as being in his 20s or 30s, 6 feet tall, with short dark blonde hair, he was also carrying a carrier bag.

Inspector Christine Boyd, from Cumnock Police Station, said: "Around 4.30pm on Sunday, 13 September, we received a report of a naked man walking near Glaisnock House in Cumnock.

"He is described as being in his 20s or 30s, 6ft tall, medium build, with short dark blond hair. He was naked, except for a black and red snood covering his face, and was carrying a carrier bag.

"Enquiries into this report are ongoing and we would ask anyone with information, or who saw this man, to contact police on 101, quoting incident 2417 of 13 September."
