The Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire has donated £1,000 to the Darvel Dinner Ladies which will go towards Christmas hampers for those in the town.
Billy presented the cheque to organiser Claire Brown on Wednesday, September 2 on behalf of the Lodge which will help to make Christmas that bit more special for locals this year.
Posting on Facebook, Claire Brown said: “Words fail me on how we can express our gratitude, such an amazing support for our town of Darvel, to be spent on Christmas hampers and gifts.
“Utterly amazing, such compassion and kindness shown to our community and recognition of the community work the Dinner Ladies tirelessly undertake, thank you to everyone who contributed.”
