A schoolboy who went missing from Paisley last week was found in Saltcoats this weekend.

Kevin Paul was reported missing on Thursday, September 3, and was known to have links to the Three Towns.

The 15-year-old was last seen at around midday and a search was launched with police issuing a description of him and another boy he was thought to be with.

Fortunately, Kevin was traced in the Saltcoats area on Saturday, September 5.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals."

Previously, a statement from Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Police force read: "Police are seeking the assistance of the public to trace a teenager missing from the Paisley area since around midday on Thursday, 3 September, 2020.

"Kevin Paul (15) is described as white, 5ft 6 inches in height, with brown hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a grey Nike tracksuit top, grey shorts and Nike trainers.

"He is believed to be in the company of another youth described as white, 5ft 5 inches in height, with red hair, and who speaks with a Newcastle accent, wearing shorts and a T-shirt, possibly with a black Berghaus jacket.

"He has links to the three towns (Stevenson/Saltcoats in particular), Glasgow and Newcastle areas.

"We would urge anyone with any information on their whereabouts to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1471 of 3 September."
