A person has been injured after a car struck a bus sending it off the road in Kilwinning.
The car was badly smashed after the collision on Irvine Road and the bus is awaiting recovery.
The accident happened this morning with one person treated for a minor injury at the scene.
Police Scotland confirmed the road traffic collision occurred at the traffic lights near Watercut Road.
Buses, along with other traffic, have been affected with Stagecoach diverting its number 11 service through Blacklands heading to Ardrossan.
Bus stops on Irvine Road and Lauchlan Way are not operating.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A car struck a bus at locus whereby only minor injury to one person was noted and this was treated at the locus.
"Road remains closed with a diversion in place until bus is recovered which should take place shortly.
"Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain cause of this collision."
