Primary school children across North Ayrshire returned to classes today, including the new primary ones.
Schools across the country closed their doors on March 20 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, having been away for almost five months, kids, teachers, janitors, cleaners and canteen staff have finally returned with special measures in place to keep things safe.
For the first two days, today and tomorrow, children and young people may attend school at varying times, but come this Friday everyone will be back full-time.

Some schools have introduced different starting and finishing times, as well as staggering breaks and lunches.
There are also one-way systems, and efforts have been made to keep buildings ventilated.
Children will be kept in the same groups throughout the day and there will be no assemblies.
There will, however, be more opportunities for outdoor learning.
🎉Woohoo we are back! A huge welcome back to our pupils, staff and families 🤗💞🤗 pic.twitter.com/MJXdla3TjI

Parents and carers at some schools are being asked to stand in particular places to avoid crowds gathering.
Children in primary and secondary schools do not need to physically distance, but adults are expected to do so.
Nobody is required to wear a face covering, but regular cleaning of hands is expected.
Please note staff may be wearing a variety (diff colours etc.) of face coverings and when there is a requirement for personal care full PPE will be worn as shown below by the fabulous Ms Prince 🤩 pic.twitter.com/WaqbBoAwRv
