AYR has ranked in the top 10 of seaside locations to book an Airbnb whilst been given its own special postcard.

The holiday rental company has revealed that the boom of staycations is benefitting coastal hot spots around the UK with Ayr sitting tenth in the overall leader board.

The popular apartments or homes are situated just a stone throw away from the town’s stunning beaches, parks and restaurants are proving popular amongst visitors.

And the surge in custom to Ayr has seen local hosts pocketing £40,000 cumulatively in the month of July, as Airbnb witnessed an increase of 28 per cent first time bookers.

To celebrate the news that UK destinations are back on the map, Ayr has been given its very own bespoke postcard designed by British Artist, Beca Flur.

The Advertiser has taken a look at the reason why Ayr has found itself rubbing shoulders with the likes of Morecambe, Great Yarmouth and Welsh spot Colwyn Bay which tops the list.
